A Heartfelt Thank You to San Antonio Behavioral Health
I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible team at San Antonio Behavioral Health. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, respected, and truly cared for. Every member of the staff, from medical professionals to housekeeping, plays a crucial role in creating an environment where healing and support thrive.
A special thank you to Ms. Ricki, Ms. Aby, Ms. Martha, Mr. Dalton, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Joel, Ms. Susan, Ms. Terry, and Mr. Daniel—your dedication and kindness made a real difference in my journey. Each of you showed patience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that Veterans and active-duty service members receive the care they deserve.
To the housekeeping staff, I want to personally acknowledge your hard work. Your attention to detail and professionalism do not go unnoticed. A clean and welcoming environment is a vital part of the healing process, and you all contribute more than you know.
What makes this place truly special is that no one here gives up on us. The encouragement, understanding, and genuine care from the entire team remind me that I am not alone in this journey. San Antonio Behavioral Health isn’t just a facility—it’s a place where people truly care, where they listen, and where they lift others up when they need it most.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do. Your dedication changes lives, and I am grateful to have been in your care.

The adolescent staff in admissions is AMAZING! Mercedes was so polite and sweet! Misty was very kind to me and my child during our difficult time. The therapist Sara and the other Nurse Vee were all very understanding to our situation. My child could not stop laughing with the Tech Scott who cheered her up during a difficult time. I hope my child never has to come back but if she ever does this is the facility I would choose EVERYTIME!

VICTORY UNIT
Shout out to Dalton, Susan, Nikki, and Daniel. The staff is INCREDIBLE. The facilities are a little out dated and the food is typical of a hospital. It gets cold so pack for that and if you can bring your own pillow and blanket it’s a good idea too. There are weekly outings for active duty and its paid for by the facilityy (minus food or whatever you wanna buy). And the outtings are an absolute blast!
Therapy is focused on radical acceptance and making decisions in line with your values. Abby and Genie are hands down the best therapists I have ever had. The groups are awesome and everyone is kind and patient. Because it is a lot of processing everyone makes space for you to work through your issues at home. Its a godsend to have the time and space to work on yourself. Don’t see your admission here as a failure. If you use the time to give yourself self love and truly work on finding your values and working with your traumas you will absolutely leave here a new person. This place saved me and I hope you can find healing here too.

Overall my experience was wonderful. I was hoping for more individual therapy and smaller groups but I feel much more prepared to return to work and I have confidence that everything will be ok as long as I keep working towards my mental health. Cheri was wonderful as my therapist and all the other staff were great at groups.

Food is definitely better. Would be nice to have a more intensive part 2 of PHP, to work on the how. Definitely glad I came. Thank you Daniel as Dr. M.
